Geography

  • Haiti means mountainous (pbs.org)
  • 2nd largest island in the Caribbean (1st is Cuba)

  • It's surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean (North) and the Caribbean Sea (West,South)
  • It includes 5 islands: Gonave, Tortuga, Vache, Les Cayemites, and Navassa
  • 2/3 of the island is mountainous
  • There's 5 mountain ranges: Massif du Nord, Montagnes Noire, Chain de Mateaux, Massif de la Hotte, and Massif de la Selle

  • Haiti has over 100 rivers
